My perspective on making ceremonial tools & instruments

There is a sacred gift in the act of creating a spiritual tool that is hard to explain. It’s like holding sand, that magic is drifting and vague, but tangible during the moments of creation. Then that item you invested … Continued

There's something very special about creating something with your hands - something that did not previously exist and... now does because of your vision and effort. William's workshop was a great joy to attend and I love the flute I was able to make as a result of his instruction and guidance. Also, I picked up some great tips I can apply to the flutes I make using bamboo or pvc. All around a great experience. Very recommended.read more

Itiba Cahubaba is the “great bleeding mother”
Itiba Cahubaba is the “great bleeding mother” or “bleeding grandmother” in the Taino tradition. She is integral in our creations stories, and portrayed in a few different variations artistically.

This is a custom necklace I have available, hand carved bone pendant with clear quartz, aventurine, and jade beads or silver string.

Inspired by the Venus of Dolní Věstonice, one of the oldest ceramic artifacts in the world. This Venus inspiration is carved in Georgia marble.

Carving stone has been one of the hardest, no pun intended, art skills to learn. The transition from softer materials like wood to stone can be very intimidating. But there’s something about creating a piece of art that could last millennia. It warms my heart to make something that could be found by future peoples as they wonder about who and why it was made.

I haven’t been too interested in sending time us
I haven’t been too interested in sending time using social media lately, got burnt out on posting. Here’s another repair project completed. This vintage drum arrived here totally disassembled and the frame was broken. I’ve repaired and reinforced the frame, and replaced one side of the head with new elk. Just waiting on the final dry time and back to its home good as new.

Yesterdays leatherwork workshop went really well! It’s always fun seeing each child’s method and design. Some like to be self sufficient and others want more guidance, by the end of our time they each make a unique item by their own hands. So much fun!
