Blow Gun Seminar
The Blow Gun is a weapon of Surprise, Skill, and Survival. This weapon from an indigenous perspective is about self preservation more than conquering. This weapon is not superior on the battlefield or in today’s society giving the fact that many depend on Firearms for protection.
The Blow Gun Class will teach a skill that will be silent, and will not attract attention. Blow Gun skills will allow for hunting of small game, Covert Self Preservation, and protection with a surprise.
Do not underestimate the indigenous skills of long ago and even in today’s world. To be proficient with this weapon will take knowledge, practice, and a sharp mind! To be able to hone this indigenous skill a practitioner needs to be a stable conscientious individual with a punch of perseverance.
Knife Throwing Seminar
The skill of knife throwing takes time along with a good set of throwing knives. This silent method of indigenous combat is proven to be effective for hunting small game to silent combat methods. This seminar will teach throwing from Standing, Kneeling, Rolling and Running.
This is another method of self preservation that encompasses a sharp mind. Developing long lasting skills to defend yourself without being concerned about an opponent’s fighting skill, size,or power.
Taino MAKANA – War Club
The Makana was a needed weapon for survival at close range. These fighting techniques will give you a skill set with any implement you pickup.
The Taino war club is a part of our culture and many indigenous cultures.
The class will learn striking and blocking with body positioning and stepping.
Simplified Self Defense – Keep an attacker at arms length
This is a class that will utilize Stepping Maneuvers along with upper body tactics to keep an attacker from getting close enough to grab and subdue a person.
Learn what the Chinese Masters of Kung Fu were and still are teaching. These are basic fundamentals of Chinese Kung Fu that uses natural movement and body positioning to keep from being overpowered.
These are not fighting techniques, Escaping the dangers of an assault,
Or abduction. Learning awareness and the setup from an abductor.
This is a necessary skill set for all people in today’s world.
Indigenous Defense Master – Musician – Taino Tradionalist
Akitchitay has 40 years of martial arts experience, in various perspectives. He is also Taino traditionalist who shares his wisdom with those who need it. Over 20 years experience in the Tatino tradition and trained by some of the most well known Taino elders. Akitchitay takes this sacred work seriously, and loves to share native wisdom.
Akitchitay is also a percussionist, who specializes in Taino songs and is also a known craftsman of Taino style drums. He has many years experience pouring Taino lodges (Kansi ceremony) and leading other Taino ceremonies for the people. He also has a lifetime of training in various martial arts from around the world.
